2020 Art of the Cut

Public Works Collaborative collaborated with the Toledo Museum of Art to create community focused story events, coinciding with exhibitions or in celebration of community initiatives, including the 2020 Art of the Cut event.

Inspired by hair shows and fashion runways, the Art of the Cut explored the intersection of art and health, celebrating local Black barbers and their role as artists and community health advocates. PWC creatively led brainstorming sessions with all stakeholders, produced short films highlighting the barbers and ProMedica’s Barbershop Men’s Health Program, and provided creative and stage direction for the event that welcomed over 1,000 people.
